Description
In the heat of the desert sun
Tears dry before they can run
On the unyielding desert stage
Where the only prop is the sage
I perform a soliloquy
To an audience I don’t see
But feel Him around me now
As my heart and soul humbly bow
Dear Lord my body is weary
Of man I grow suspect and leery
As evil grows rampant and all too real
It snuffs out life and innocence steal
When I finish my gut-wrenching rant
I awake to a quiet chant
Like an echo I hear it ringing
All at once the mountain is singing
Press on with a brightness of hope
If centered in Christ you can cope
Rejoice for Lord Jesus is King
And He will restore all things
I departed the desert today
Stilled by His answer to prayer
Now filled with His lasting peace
All noise in my spirit has ceased
